Biographical Sketch Rick Schilling
Rick is a banking professional with over 20 years of commercial lending experience at First Pennsylvania Bank. In 1987, Ricks position was eliminated prior to a merger with CoreStates Bank. He was hired by a leasing company to run their equipment rental subsidiary, and purchased that subsidiary in 1989. He sold that company in 1992 and began a new career as an independent contractor.
In that capacity, Rick focused on short-term assignments at banks, to handle special projects, fill key-person absences, and to support full-time staff during periods of heavy volume. In 1995, responding to requests from banks to staff multiple interim positions, he established a staffing company to place vice president level professionals into short-term assignments. In 1998, he and a business associate created CalPro Partners to complete specialized commercial loan documentation projects. In 2000, he established a joint venture arrangement with a real estate professional to complete lease abstract projects. Rick has been exploring agency arrangements to promote his staffing and project management services outside of the Philadelphia area.
Rick has a BS degree in Marketing from St. Joseph's University, completed the Stonier School of Banking program at Rutgers University, and has an MBA-Finance degree from Widener University. He is president and owner of Schilling Professional Staffing, Inc. a company providing experienced industry specialists for interim or project assignments at financial institutions. Articles about his firm have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, American Banker, Spare Room Tycoon, House of Business, and other industry publications. Rick volunteers significant time to Josephs People Ltd., a faith-based non-denominational support mission for unemployed and underemployed workers. www.josephspeople.org
